Tanafreida, that’s our small house with only 8 apartments on a 40.000 m2 area, high above the valley, directly on the edge of the forest, surrounded by natural meadows and on the sunniest hill of the whole area. Here you come up to calm down.
Discover the Tanafreida resting places
As you approach the Tanafreida meandering along the steep, narrow path, you soon realize: this spot of earth is special. Especially because the house is situated like on a balcony. The view deep down into the valley and up to the surrounding mountains, the breeze that caresses your face, the sound concert of nature: Here, the things of your own everyday life easily move into their right place and you understand how beneficial a pinch of modesty can be.
In the house and in the entire area, we have therefore set up many corners and spots that invite you to rest. to look, to listen, to smell, to feel. For example, the 2m2 “meadow bathing place” in the middle of our meadow, which is distinguished for its richness of species. Or the little bench next to our chicken coop, where you can watch the fascinating going-on of our clucking family members.
On our Tanafreida area you can basically settle down anywhere. You simply take a suitable seat to your spot in our “armchair storage”. For the smaller spots like the meadow bathing or the yoga & meditation room we are happy to reserve undisturbed time slots for you.
Please note: The resting places marked in green are only available in summer. In winter, you are welcome to draw snow angels or build snowmen there.

A cosy start to the day: Tanafreida breakfast service
We will be happy to prepare a great organic breakfast for you. We will deliver it to your door at the time of your choice or set it up right away. We are happy to fulfil your wishes.
Fresh water from our own mountain spring
For good water, simply fill a glass from the nearest tap. The water that flows out comes from our own spring.
Enjoy in comfort: cheese fondue in the flat or Stöbli
With our “Fondue-Wägele” you can enjoy a cosy and cheesy evening in your flat without much effort. We prepare everything and place it on the “Wägele” in front of your door at the desired time. The cheese comes from the Ländle, of course!
Enjoy in style: Fondue Chinoise in the flat or Stöbli
First-class, delicately sliced organic meat from the region, self-cooked in the soup pot. Served with creamed potatoes, freshly baked organic baguette (gluten-free is also available) and 5 “Sößli” freshly prepared by Alexandra.
Celebrate in style: use our rustic Montafon Stöbli
Whether for a small celebration or simply for a cosy end to the day: we are happy to make our “Stöbli” available to you.
Charge electric cars: Directly in front of the house
You can easily and conveniently use our two 11 kW charging stations with type 2 plugs. You will receive charging cards at check-in
Enjoy a hearty meal: “A ghörige Marend”
We will gladly prepare a hearty Montafon snack for you. A proper Marend with fresh organic products from the region, either “To-Go” for the mountain or finely prepared on the “Wägele” for your flat.
Gastro-Surprise: Our shuttle to the best restaurants
Because we like to eat well ourselves, we know the best restaurants in the region. We are happy to organise culinary excursions for you at an all-inclusive price – including an aperitif at Tanafreida and transfer to and from the restaurant.
Simply enjoy: Fair menus in a glass from the chef de cuisine
You will find a selection of first-class dishes by award-winning chef Wolfgang Mätzler at Lädili. He only uses fresh, seasonal ingredients from hand-picked farmers in the region, pays attention to species-appropriate animal husbandry and fair prices.
Workshops and Retreats
Thanks to our special location, Tanafreida is also a great place for courses and retreats for smaller groups where peace and nature play a big role. We are happy to make our rooms and grounds available for such events. Get in touch with us if you are interested.
